Policies & Rules

The Shadow Wire IRC network is a family oriented network. With this in mind, we expect users to use common sense. Also, we are very strict with policies concerning hackers and troublemakers. If you are on this network to cause trouble we will take action quickly to remove you by all means necessary.

General Conduct

• No spamming
• No flooding
• You may only have one clone (2 connections) on this network at any given time
• You may not harass another user on this network
• You may not advertise other networks (may be akilled on first offence)
• You may not advertise unless it is in your own channel
• You may not impersonate an IRC staff member
• Exploiting bugs or crashing clients and services is strictly forbidden
• You may not steal another user's nick or channel name

Channel Names and Nicks

• First character must be alpha numeric (a-z 0-9)
• May only contain standard ASCII codes
• May not contain white space characters (spaces, tabs, etc…)
• No pornographic topics or suggestions
• May not contain advertisements or warez
• May not contain foul language
• No racial or derogatory content
• All channel names and nicknames must be considered appropriate
• We reserve the right to remove names at our discretion

Channel Content

• No channel on this network may contain pornography, warez or other illegal content
• Content, other then what is forbidden above, is at the sole discretion of the channel operator(s)
• Note: If at any time you do not like the content in a channel, your are always free to leave that channel

Personal Disputes and Opinions

You have a right to dislike the IRC Staff and have a bad opinion of this IRC network. If you would like to dispute policy or speak negatively about this network, please do it in a private channel or in a query message (PM).

Nick Name and Channel Disputes

Nicks and channels registered with services (NickServ and ChanServ) are on a first come, first serve basis. If some how your nick or channel is hijacked and you can't recover it, please let an IRC staff member know so they can help you. Please do not get into a flame wars, as this will not help the situation.

Official Network Channels

• You may not use foul language
• You may not make racial or derogatory comments
• Spamming, fighting, cloning, flooding, and advertisements will not be tolerated
• No bots allowed

Query Messages (Private Messages)

• No Spamming or advertising
• No harassment
• No flooding
• If a user tells you to leave them alone, you must do so
